Update

Haven’t really felt like updating.

Retrieval was Saturday, Dec 5, and they retrieved 16 eggs.  We were pretty happy.  Next day, found that 13 were mature and 12 fertilized.  Day 2, 12 still growing. Day 5, 12 still growing, Day 6, 5 biopsied for PGS and 7 left to still develop.  4 of them were AB and 1 was BB.  Day 7, no more were biopsied because they didn’t meet the quality that my clinic looks for…  Was quite a bit disappointing that we didn’t have any say in that and that they didn’t save any of the remaining 7.    My doctor called to discuss this on Day 6, and steamrolled over me as usual, with things like “we know what we’re doing”, etc etc.  All the bedside manner and compassion of a crocodile.

It took 12 days for AF to show up and finally came yesterday.  I have had massive bleeding and my mood swings are massive…wanting to cry and scream at the same time….

They sent the biopsies off on Monday or Tuesday and I don’t expect to hear back before Christmas.  They told me 68% are likely to be aneuploid or abnormal for my age…and since I’m at the end of my 41st year, the amount will probably be less.  Honestly, i’ll be crushed if we don’t get any…I haven’t really prepared myself for that.  Although I ask myself daily why am i doing this etc.  Hourly tantrums by my almost 2 year old help facilitate those feelings…but still trying.

I started my FET protocol today and have 26 days, which puts us at Jan 11 for transfer.    Will be going the

Del Estrogen 0.2 cc IM every third night until lining check on Jan 6, then add Progesterone in Oil 0.1 cc IM every night if all looks good.

I ended up signing up for Maryland individual health insurance which guarantees fertility coverage, unlike my current insurance through my husband.  So if we have to do this again, we’ll have a lot more coverage!
