38 weeks and 1 day

So, I’m scheduled to start induction on Tuesday, 9/20 at 8pm.  We got measurements today from the MFM doc and her head is still measuring small and has slowed growth, so I’m anxious to have her out.  My BP is rising (not to frightening levels) and my fluid is decreasing, but not enough for a worry.  MFM doc and OB think I can wait until Tues/Wed when I’m 39 weeks.  MFM doc is concerned about cranialsynostosis because DH’s first son was born with it.  But they can’t tell until she comes out and maybe even months go by.

It is frightening to think something may be really wrong, but I’m trying to stay calm and just pray for the best.   As DH says, she’s ours and she’s perfect no matter what.

So OB told me to try and take it a bit easy this weekend, and lay on left side when possible to lower BP.

OB said that  because she’s only measuring about 6 lbs, birthing her may be easier, or not if the weight is not pushing down on cervix.

At any rate, the countdown is on, T-minus 5 days.

Baby girl 37 weeks

imageWhen the ultrasound tech showed us the baby’s face in 4D I just balled.  There she was, not just the shape of her head or belly.  I was overwhelmed!

The blood flow is still looking good, but my doctor is going to let me get induced on the 20th or 21st at 39 weeks! We go next Tuesday for 38 week check and we’ll schedule time then!

oh and the doc said I was 1cm dialated, yay!

36 weeks 5 days

Last night I woke up to cramping, on and off for bout 5 hours.  I’ve periodically had more during the day with bm cramps too.  This feels a little reminiscent of days just before I had Oliver.  It may all be in my head, but I’m wondering if this is the start of labor?

My OB is not worried about her being small, or her head size being small, but we’ll continue to go to the MFM doctor weekly, and now seeing the OB practice weekly too.  My doc agreed to let me schedule the induction on week 39.

I’m still trying to organize the nursery and I’ve finally organized the clothes we’ve been given and I’ve finally done it.  Since she’s supposedly small, I’m just going to wait and see about additional clothes until she’s here.

35 weeks tomorrow!

Still hanging on.  I’ve been on a very low salt and lots of water regimen to reduce the crazy swelling.  I’ve lost 5 pounds in the last 4 days all water weight I’m sure!

My little girl has been measuring a bit small, so I hope next Monday she shows a bit of growth.  Being 42+ they are worried that my placenta isn’t giving her enough nutrition, so by next Monday we’ll see…

Can’t believe Ruffles and Bows in our future!

I am SHOCKED!  We found out this morning from the NIPT test that we’re having a girl!  I can’t remember exactly how the phone call went but she said it’s a female, and I screamed WHAT????  And then I balled for a couple of minutes.  I guess I really wanted a little girl, but wouldn’t let myself get my hopes up!

I feel a great responsibility having a girl, so much more so than a with my son.  Like I need to be a good role model, I need to do things the right way, etc.  Whew, I’m exhausted just thinking about it.

I am still in shock! Wow!

12 weeks looking good

Had my 12 week MFM appt and the ultrasound looked great.  Baby was squirming all around- so hard to believe what we were seeing when i couldn’t feel it!  NT fold and nasal cavity looked normal.  Took blood test for other screenings, but based on PGS testing doctor feels like baby is healthy, but we should know the baby sex within the week because of the test.  Heartbeat was 154 and sounded good!

9 weeks 6 days

Baby is right on track, measuring 9 week 6 days, 165 hb.  We even got a little hand wave!

It really doesn’t feel real, and neither my husband nor I have embraced it at all.  I’m not showing, so it’s not apparent to anyone.

There’s also the problem of possibility of my husband being infected with Zika.  We don’t have results from his blood test yet, but he tested neg for dengue, positive for chikungunya and no results yet for zika.  Uggh.  Still waiting.

7weeks 5 days

Had an ultrasound at 6 weeks 2 days and saw a heartbeat of 110 Feb 5.  All looked good!  A little bit of nausea has been affecting me but not too badly.

Over the weekend I had a bright red bleed, but was out of town.  It only lasted about 3 hours on Friday but had cramping.  It was really scary but i knew there was nothing i could do about it.

We went in this morning and thankfully saw a strong heartbeat of 156 and all was still on track.  They suspect that a small part of the placenta might have pulled away from the uterine wall.  They have released me to my OB with progesterone and del estrogen shots through March 1.
